About the Engagement Session:

Madison and Mike are one of our 2025 couples who decided to take their engagement session photos at The Grand Galvez (Galveston, Texas – along the seawall). Keep reading to view a selection of images from their gallery and find out more about the beautiful engagement session!

Why The Grand Galvez?

When picking locations for the engagement session, we looked for a timeless location that offered flexibility, an effortless yet classic vibe, and a space with air conditioning since Houston is unpredictable.

As a photographer, the Grand Galvez was the perfect mix of all these requirements and more. With stunning decor, a variety of motifs, and a wide range of background options, there was no way we weren’t going to find the perfect stop while walking around the location.

Not many people know about this elegant space but once you are able to take a stop in, you’ll never forget it.

Our Favorite Part: The Red Chandeliers!

As a photographer, the more I look around the hotel, the more inspired I become. The red chandeliers above the bar and the beautiful lighting within the bells were staple pieces that really made a difference in the vibe of the photos because they made such a statement in the background for every photo.

Photos don’t do those lighting pieces justice, honestly. They were big and bold, guiding and providing the perfect amount of light in the middle of the day. It was a gorgeous contrast with the natural background and with a bit of flash, the lighting was beautiful.

Honorable mention to the beautiful white chandeliers inside of the giant bells along the hallway. Can you believe the only thing separating these two backdrops is the columns in the hallway? From vibrant red/maroon to the clean gold and white shades, the backdrops were perfect.

Location: Along The Galveston Seawall

The Grand Galvez is beautiful inside and out! We saved part of the session to shoot outside (although, it was a very quick, final portion). We experienced a gentle breeze in the air, despite the weather being hot an humid for 10:30am on a July morning.

The Grand Galvez is located along the Galveston seawall, the coast of south Texas. It’s a perfect location because you get a chance to see the ocean right across the street. Think about the different options when it comes to your reception!

Our favorite photo from the outside portion of the engagement session was the stunning image of Mike and Madison in the grass with the Grand Galvez as a contrasting pink backdrop. It was a beautiful view!
